Location of the University

The University of Tokyo (Hongo Campus) is located at Bunkyo-ku in Tokyo. The stations near the University are Ueno and Okachimachi on the JR Yamanote line, Ochanomizu on the JR Chuo line, and Keisei-Ueno on the Keisei line. When you come from these stations, it is convenient to take a taxi. The nearest subway stations are Hongo-san-chome on the Marunouchi line and on the Oedo line, Nezu on the Chiyoda line, and Todai-mae on the Nanboku line. You can walk to the University from these subway stations.

Ichijo hall, where all the plenary sessions and poster session will be held, is in the Yayoi Auditorium located to the right of the gate to Faculty of Agriculture. Todai-mae station is most convenient to Ichijo Hall.

Koshiba Hall is located on the second floor of School of Science Bldg. No.1 just behind the clock tower called Yasuda-koudou.


Travel to the University (conference venues and the guest house)
From Narita Airport

Please take a Keisei line train from Narita airport. The limited express "Sky liner" train is most convenient and fast. More information about the Keisei line is available on the Internet.
From the Keisei Ueno station, you can either
(1) take a taxi, which costs about 1500Yen. We recommend you to print out the campus map and show it to the taxi driver;
(2) walk to subway Ueno-Okachimachi station to take the Oedo subway line to the next stop, Hongo-sanchome, and then walk to the campus;
(3) walk the entire route across the Shinobazu-no-ike pond, which takes about 15-30 minutes depending on your destination in the campus.

All these stations are shown in the area map. The location of the conference venues and the guest house are shown in the campus map. The guest house is called "Sanjo Kaikan Tatsuoka-mon Annex 山上会館龍岡門別館."

From Tokyo Station

Please take the Marunouchi subway line to Hongo-san-chome, the fourth stop. The route from the JR station to the Tokyo subway station is complicated. We recommend you to print out the map and take it with you.


Travel to the official Hotels Forest Hongo
From Narita Airport

Please take a Keisei line train from Narita airport to its terminal, Keisei Ueno station. The limited express "Sky liner" train to is most convenient and fast. More information about the Keisei line is available on the Internet. From Keisei Ueno station, you can either
(1) take a taxi, which costs about 1500Yen. We recommend you to print out the campus map and show it to the taxi driver; (2) walk to subway Ueno-Okachimachi station to take the Oedo subway line to the next stop, Hongo-sanchome. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the station; (3) walk the entire route across the Shinobazu-no-ike pond and the University, which takes about 30 minutes.

From Tokyo Station

Kizankan
From Narita Airport

We recommend you to print out the campus map and show it to the taxi driver; (2) walk to subway Ueno-Okachimachi station to take the Oedo subway line to the next stop, Hongo-sanchome. The hotel is about 2 minutes walk from the station.

From Tokyo Station

Hotel Grand Palace
From Narita Airport

It is most convenient to take the airport limousine bus service which goes to the hotel directly. Please look at the website for more details and the time table. (Your destination is "Mejiro, Kudan, Korakuen" area.) Another option is to take a Keisei line train (the limited express "Sky liner" train to is most convenient and fast) from Narita airport to Nippori station, where you transfer to JR Yamanote line on the platform 10 to get off at the fourth stop, Akihabara. Then transfer to Sobu line on the platform 5 and get off at Iidabashi station which is the third stop. The hotel is 7 minutes walk from the station. 

From Tokyo Station

Please take JR Chuo line to the second stop, Ochanomizu, to transfer to JR Sobu line on the platform in front of you. Iidabashi is the second stop.

Hotel Metropolitan Edmont
From Narita Airport

Please take a Keisei line train (the limited express "Sky liner" train to is most convenient and fast) from Narita airport to Nippori station, where you transfer to JR Yamanote line on the platform 10 to get off at the fourth stop, Akihabara. Then transfer to Sobu line on the platform 5 and get off at Suidobashi station which is the second stop. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the station (see the access map). 

From Tokyo Station

Please take JR Chuo line to the second stop, Ochanomizu, to transfer to JR Sobu line on the platform in front of you. Suidobashi is the next stop.

Tokyo Dome Hotel
From Narita Airport

It is most convenient to take the airport limousine bus service which goes to the hotel directly. Please look at the website for more details and the time table. This hotel is close to Tokyo Dome Hotel and the above instructions also apply to this hotel. It is one minutes walk from Suidobashi station and its location can be found from here.
