Name: Yuji Chinone Institution: Astronomical Institute Title: Measurement of Cosmic Microwave Background Polarization Power Spectra from QUIET Q-Band Data Key Words: cosmic microwave background, polarization, observations, data analysis Abstract: QUIET (Q/U Imaging ExperimenT) is an experiment to measure the polarization of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) radiation at 5,080m in Chile in the Atacama desert. The main target for QUIET is detecting and measuring the faint polarization signals caused by gravitational waves from the inflationary epoch. QUIET uses HEMT array polarimeter receiver, which is a unique choice of technology compared with other current and future experiments. QUIET has finished an observation at 44 GHz (Q-Band), and an observation at 95 GHz (W-Band) is ongoing. I will summarize the data selection, time-ordered data process, map-making algorithms, null tests and power spectrum estimation for the Q-band data. I will also discuss prospects for the analysis on the W-band data.
