 Title: Statistical techniques for detecting primordial non-Gaussianity

 Abstract: Seeking for deviations from the Gaussian paradigm has recently become a major effort - and a minor industry - in cosmology.
I will outline how one can use the statistics of regions above or below a temperature threshold (excursion sets) to study the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy in models with primordial non-Gaussianity of the local type. 
I will also intriduce other useful statistical tools, and make the connection with the non-Gaussianity in the LSS.
